Terms of Use

These terms apply to your use of Calens. By using the app, you agree to use it responsibly and only where permitted by law.

Age Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create or use a Calens account. Calens is not intended for children or minors.

Nutrition and Wellness Information

Calens provides nutrition estimates and tracking tools for general wellness awareness. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, or professional health advice.

Your Information and Content

You are responsible for the information you add to Calens and for keeping your device and, where applicable, account access secure. Meal photos, profile data, and logs should only be added if you have the right to use them.

Food Data and Third-Party Sources

Calens may display barcode, label, nutrition, and ingredient reference information from app-owned datasets and Open Food Facts. Open Food Facts database material is made available under the Open Database License, with attribution and share-alike obligations for reused database material. Product images and other contents may have their own license terms. You should review and edit food data before relying on it in your log. Calens does not guarantee that third-party product data is complete, current, official, or suitable for medical decisions.

Subscriptions

Paid access, when available, is purchased through the App Store. Apple handles billing, renewals, cancellations, subscription management, and refunds according to the terms shown at purchase and in your Apple account settings. Calens and RevenueCat validate subscription status, provide access to eligible features, and support restore behavior. Any price, duration, trial, renewal, or cancellation terms shown by Apple or the App Store at the time of purchase control the transaction. Removing local Calens data or deleting a Calens account does not automatically cancel an active App Store subscription; manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple account first if needed.

Apple Terms

Your use of Calens from the App Store is also subject to Apple Media Services terms and applicable App Store rules. Apple is not responsible for Calens maintenance or support.

Account Deletion

In the default local-first mode, Settings lets you remove app-owned local data; no Calens cloud account or Sign in with Apple is required. Account deletion and Apple credential revocation apply only to a separately configured account-enabled build. A minimal server-only deletion block is retained for no more than 24 hours and a SHA-256 marker for no more than 72 hours to prevent stale credentials from recreating deleted data. These markers contain no profile, meal, or Health content. Some purchase or security records may remain for the limited periods described in the Privacy Policy or required by law.
